Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) program Hiring

Pipestone, MN: Superintendent Glen Livermont announced today the Pipestone National Monument will conduct a Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) program for the 2013 summer season.The program provides an opportunity for 15-18 year olds to accomplish conservation work and develop an environmental understanding and appreciation of the Monument's natural and cultural heritage.

This year, four positions are available working in the resource management and maintenance divisions where participants will spend most of their time working in the outdoors. Work will include exotic species control, assisting with wildlife and vegetation monitoring, and assisting maintenance with grounds and facility upkeep.Work opportunities may also be available in administration and interpretation during inclement weather.

The eight-week program is scheduled to run from June 10 through August 2, 2013.Participants will work a 40-hour week at the rate of $7.25 per hour.All interested area youth 15-18 years old, who are permanent residents of the United States, are eligible to apply.Selection for positions will be based on merit, skills and interviews.Applications can be obtained at Pipestone National Monument headquarters between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.Completed applications must be returned by April 19, 2013.
