210th Commemoration of the Battle of Lake Erie

All events are free, open to the public, and held at Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial unless otherwise noted.


Below is the 2022 schedule of events for the weekend.
2023's events are still being planned but will be similar.

Friday
10:00 am - 6 pm - Observation Deck Open - Purchase tickets at the Visitor Center to reserve your time.

7:00 pm - Flag Retirement Ceremony- To kick off Historic Weekend join us at the Flag Poles to learn about the Battle of Lake Erie and Flag Etiquette.

Saturday
Observation Deck Open - Purchase tickets at the Visitor Center to reserve your time. No Deck Tours during Grand Parade or Battle of Lake Erie Commemoration Ceremony.

10:00 am - Join the Perry Group on the Jet Express out at the battle site for a wreath laying ceremony. There is a cost for this event. For more information on this event visit our friends group's website.

11:30- Fort Meigs Fife and Drums- "The Story Behind the Song"

12:00 pm -1:00 pm - Clyde and Anthony Wayne High School Marching Bands perform in DeRivera Park.

1:30 pm - Grand Parade- This year the Broncos on the Bay and our parade to commemorate the Battle of Lake Erie will join forces. Broncos will start at McCann field heading out to South Bass Island State Park and head back towards town on Catawba Ave. The marching units will join in after the Broncos pass the Put-in-Bay School being downtown about 2 pm. Parade ends at the flag poles between Visitor Center and Memorial.

3:00- The procession from Visitor Center kicks off our Battle of Lake Erie Commemoration Ceremony. Keynote Speakers will be Captain Danielle DeFant, Commander Officer of the USS Lake Erie and Retired US Army Colonel Tamara Crawford.

5:00 - Stories of Victory

10:00 am - 5:00 pm Historic Encampment- Soldiers, Sailors, Civilians, and trades

Performances by the Fort Meigs Fife and Drum Corps- "The Story Behind the Song"

10:00 am - 5:00 pm - Art in the Park down in DeRivera Park.
