Visitor Accessibility GuideWelcome to the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center's Accessibility Guide. We are committed to ensuring that all visitors, regardless of their physical abilities, have a meaningful and enjoyable experience. This guide provides essential information on the various accommodations and services available to support visitors with mobility, hearing, and visual impairments. Please review the details below to help plan your visit and make the most of your time at this historic site. MobilityThe Pearl Harbor Visitor Center is designed to be fully accessible for visitors with mobility challenges. Accessible parking is available in the front lot. All essential facilities, including restrooms, the movie theater, exhibit galleries, bookstore, information desk, drinking fountains, Navy shuttle boats, and the USS Arizona Memorial, are wheelchair accessible. However, the distances between these facilities may be challenging for some visitors. Benches are strategically placed throughout the visitor center to provide rest opportunities. Please note that wheelchairs are not available for general use and are only provided in emergency situations. Hearing ImpairedFor visitors with hearing impairments, the theater documentary is fully captioned in English, and an induction loop is available for those using hearing aids. If you require American Sign Language (ASL) interpretive services:
During your visit, an ASL interpreter can assist with the boat ride, memorial visit, and interactions with park staff. The interpreter will be available for two hours at the visitor center. If additional time is needed, it will be your responsibility to cover the extra cost. If you plan to visit other Pearl Harbor Historic Sites, please inform us so we can connect you with the appropriate services. Visually ImpairedVisually impaired visitors will find braille signage and tactile models of various interpretive resources throughout the site. Additionally, we provide a braille-ready file (BRF), a digital copy of an embossed braille booklet transcribed from the park brochure. |
