If you want to see the USS Oklahoma and USS Utah Memorials on Ford Island and do not have an Active-Duty Military ID, you must reserve seat/s for the Ford Island Bus Tour, as these sites are located on Ford Island, an active duty military base. This program is fully guided and escorted by National Park Service Rangers in careful coordination with the US Navy.
What is the Ford Island Bus Tour This tour offers a special trip to visit these less-visited sites up-close with a park ranger. Visitor will board a motor coach from the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center (1 Arizona Memorial Place) with Park Rangers and travel to Ford Island for a 90-minute round-trip tour to some of the most fascinating “hidden gems” of Pearl Harbor National Memorial.
Visitors will disembark the bus at predetermined locations for a short walk from the parking area to the USS Utah and USS Oklahoma Memorials. Visitors must remain with the escorted group at all times and refrain from photographing private residences. This tour includes the USS Utah Memorial and the USS Oklahoma Memorial. When do the Ford Island Bus Programs Run? This program is time and capacity dependent. Limited to 25 people, this program runs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:15 - 5 p.m.
Please note, that this program conflicts with the 2:30, 3 & 3:30 p.m. USS Arizona Memorial Program. Based on the return time of the above mentioned USS Arizona Memorial Programs, you may not be able to make the Ford Island Bus Tour. This tour is conducted on Ford Island, an actie duty military installation and may be cancelled at short notice due to base security concerns. How to make a Ford Island Bus Tour reservationFor the remainder of 2022, our non-profit partner Pacific Historic Parks has offered to help keep the Ford Island Bus Program tour reservation fees at a reduced cost. Reservations will require a $1 per person reservation fee. This fee is charged and kept by recreation.gov; it does not transfer to the National Park Service. Recreation.gov is the only official reservation website for Pearl Harbor National Memorial’s Ford Island Bus Tour.
Need assistance? Park Rangers cannot create, modify, rebook, refund any reservations from Recreation.gov. If you would like to reschedule your reservation, you will need to make a new one entirely. It is strongly recommended that you arrive on site at least 1-hour prior to your scheduled program time. You should check in at the Ford Island Bus Tour desk 10-minutes before your program time. Your program times is the scheduled bus departure time. Your QR Code will be located in a pdf attachment at the bottom of your confirmation email. If you do not arrive and check in early for your program on time, you will miss your opportunity to participate. Have a wonderful time! What if you miss your bus for the Ford Island Tour? Because Ford Island is an active duty military installation, you cannot "catch-up" to the bus. Participants must be escorted by National Park Service staff at all times.
