Mount Trumbull and Mount Logan Area

This section refers to the the roads that lead off of the Mohave County 5 (CR5) road in the Mount Trumbull and Mount Logan area. Roads are listed in numerical order, not by routes. Use this guide with the BLM Arizona Strip Visitor Map. All roads in this area should be explored with a high clearance four wheel drive vehicle with all-terrain tires in good condition. Some roads are only suitable for UTVs and specially modified short wheelbase 4x4s.

After snow or heavy rain all roads in this area are impassible until dry.

This is not a complete guide to all roads in the Trumbull/Logan area. This list is made primarily of the numbered roads on the BLM map that are used by the recreating public frequently. For all other roads assume they are for specially modified short wheelbase 4x4s. Some are only for UTVs. Always turn around if it gets too rough for your vehicle.

  • BLM1023 - Recommended for UTVs only.
  • BLM1028 - Well maintained to Nampaweap. Continue past Nampaweap to see the old lava flow. Do not drive onto the private property past the turnaround south of the lava flow.

  • BLM1030 - Recommended for UTVs and modified short wheelbase 4x4s only.

  • CR530/1530: Usually appropriate for all high clearance 4x4s.
