If you can’t find what you need in a local NPS or DOI Library collection, you can request an interlibrary loan. Interlibrary loan is currently the best way to access external scholarship beyond NPS and DOI holdings and subscriptions. Journal articles can be loaned as well as physical books and media. There are three ways to request an Interlibrary Loan:NPS Library ProgramThis link explains how to contact a librarian, who can help you search NPS collections, submit a request via the Denver Service Center, or forward the request to DOI Library. DOI LibraryFind the request form here. While DOI’s site says loan requests may take weeks, typically requests for electronic sources can be fulfilled within a few days. Public LibraryExplore your local public library’s website to search the ILL consortia they belong to; reach out to their ILL department; or search WorldCat.org to see if a library local to your area may have the source you need. |
