VAN BUREN, MO: Would you like to learn how to restore and maintain antique tools? Join us on Saturday, July 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Heritage Workshop located at park headquarters in Van Buren, Missouri, to learn about a variety of old tools and how to restore your own vintage tools to their former beauty. The event is free and all are welcome.  

There is something special about an old tool, whether it’s been handed down to you or has been discovered at a flea market or garage sale. These antique tools, used by hardworking men and women, tell a story all their own. The history that accompanies them is inspiring; imagine the lives and hands that shaped America. With the proper guidance from our Heritage Shop experts, your old tools can be brought back to life, maintaining the patina of age no new tool can match.

Do you have an old tool in your attic or barn that you can’t identify? Dr. James Price, former Archeologist and Chief of Resource Management at Ozark National Scenic Riverways, has collected tools for generations and will be on hand to identify your mystery items. He will even show you how to use it!
