VAN BUREN, MO - Ozark National Scenic Riverways and the Carter County Public Library are partnering to offer a Storywalk at Big Spring on August 1 and 2.Are you looking for fun and educational outdoor activities to do with your kids? Visit Big Spring for some exercise, fresh air and literacy practice! On Saturday, August 1, and Sunday, August 2, take a self-guided tour of the Big Spring Slough Trail (0.6 mile one-way) while reading the pages of a story displayed along the way. The hike starts near Big Spring and park rangers will be available Saturday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Kids can also complete a nature scavenger hunt and earn their Junior Ranger badge!
The Storywalk Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont, and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. These programs are supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Missouri Office of the Secretary of State.
