Van Buren, MO:   With the enactment of the continuing resolution, staff at Ozark National Scenic Riverways will resume regular winter operations on January 28, 2019. Please visit www.nps.gov/ozar or the park’s Facebook page for updated information about the park.

We would like to thank park visitors, local residents and other partners for their assistance in helping to maintain the Riverways in the absence of most park staff. While there were some incidents of minor vandalism, most areas of the park were maintained in good condition, including trash collection by a variety of anonymous volunteers. The National Park Service appreciates their efforts to preserve and protect the Riverways. We would also like to thank the excepted Riverways employees who continued to work throughout the shutdown.

Ozark National Scenic Riverways employees are happy to be back at work, serving the American people and welcoming visitors to their national park. Ozark National Scenic Riverways preserves the free-flowing Current and Jacks Fork Rivers, the surrounding resources, and the unique cultural heritage of the Ozark people.
