VAN BUREN, Mo. -  Ozark National Scenic Riverways will host a workshop about preparing resumes for federal government job openings on October 20 from 6-8 p.m. at park headquarters in Van Buren.

Have you ever wanted to apply for a job with the federal government but been overwhelmed or confused about the application process?  Crafting the right resume is the first step! A resume for a federal job often requires more information and detail than is required for a typical resume. Administrative specialists will offer guidance and tips for creating a federal resume that includes all the essential information needed to successfully compete for a federal job. They’ll provide resources to help you determine the best information to include when describing skills and experience you’ve gained through prior employment and volunteer positions. The workshop will also include an overview of the USAJOBS website, which is the federal government’s official jobs site.

Attendees can bring a copy of their current resume for review and suggestions. Now is a great time to update your resume for positions at Ozark National Scenic Riverways, especially if you’re interested in summer employment for 2023.  Summer job announcements typically open on USAJOBS in December and January.

Park headquarters is located at 404 Watercress Drive in Van Buren, Missouri, and is directly across from the Van Buren Schools complex. Anyone with questions can contact the Chief of Administration, Stacey Griffin at (573) 323-4905, or Human Resources Liaison Sandy Williamson at (573) 323-4884 if they have additional questions regarding the workshop.
