VAN BUREN MO:Ozark National Scenic Riverways Superintendent Larry Johnson invites the public to attend an open house meeting for the park's Roads and Trails Management Plan. The National Park Service will be hosting four open houses for the public. The purpose of these open houses is to collect information to aid in the development of the Roads and Trails Management Plan.No formal program is scheduled so that those interested in attending may stop by to share ideas and opinions at their convenience.

The National Park Service would like your feedback on questions such as:What are some of the outstanding destinations within and outside the park that should be included in the roads and trails network?Which locations would provide good placement for handicapped accessible trails? What types of opportunities should be included in the trail system? How do you feel about multi-use trails that could be shared by equestrians, hikers, and mountain bikers? Where are the best locations for designated equestrian and mountain biking trails?

The Riverways contains a vast network of roads and recreation trails. The development of a roads and trails plan is critical for protecting the special natural and cultural features of the park and providing quality recreational experiences for park visitors. The Roads and Trails Management Plan will help guide the future development and management of roads and trails within the park.
