STINTSON BEACH, CA —A new opportunity is on the horizon as Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) invites interested parties to submit a proposal for the food and beverage operation at Stinson Beach.

In the past five years, Stinson Beach has averaged approximately 1 million visitors annually, with a majority of visitation occurring May through October.

“Stinson Beach is a popular destination for swimming and other recreational activities,” said Laura E. Joss, GGNRA’s general superintendent. “This is a great opportunity for businesses interested in serving the community to join the National Park Service team.”

The duration of the concession contract is 10 years, with an estimated effective date of March 1, 2019. GGNRA plans to rehabilitate the Stinson Beach concession facilities in the winter of 2019 to 2020. The improvement project will require the operation to close for the duration of the project, expected to last approximately six months.

The Park Service has determined the existing concessioner is a “preferred offeror” who is eligible to exercise a right of preference to the award of the draft contract. That right of preference allows the preferred offeror, if it submits a responsive proposal for the draft contract, to match the terms and conditions of any competing proposal determined to be the best responsive proposal.

The prospectus and additional information are available on the Concessions Open Opportunities page.
