The NPS Investigative Services Branch (ISB) is pleased to announce the release of the program’s most recent annual report. The 2017 Highlights of ISB captures significant cases, operations, and other noteworthy events that happened in the program throughout the year.
ISB investigates and brings to justice those who violate the laws of the United States while within, or while affecting, the National Park System. The special agents of the branch investigate felony crimes and sensitive, long-term cases. Their success relies heavily upon the professional and dedicated work of US Park Rangers who are often the first to encounter these activities and violators.
"The support and collaboration from NPS dispatchers, chief rangers, superintendents, and the US Park Police are likewise critical," said Russell Roy, Chief of ISB.
ISB employees also participated in the federal response for natural disasters that impacted the country in 2017. Find out more about this coordinated effort in the report.
"Through their hard work and daily sacrifices, the employees of this branch changed the lives of others for the better," said Chris Smith, Special Agent in Charge. "I am immensely proud of the work done by every employee... to make the world a better place for us and our children."
We hope you enjoy reading the report - either all at once or in sections as you have a few spare moments. Find case updates and timely alerts all year long on the program’s website and social media pages.
