Kevin Hoffman named as new NPS Fire and Aviation systems administrator

Kevin Hoffman has joined the National Park Service Division of Fire and Aviation as a systems administrator.

Kevin Hoffman, formerly with the U.S. Forest Service (USFS), has been selected as the information technology (IT) specialist – systems administrator for the Division of Fire and Aviation’s Information Technology & Resource Management (ITRM Branch).

Kevin began his government career as an IT specialist (STEP/SCEP) in 2009 with the USFS as a desktop support specialist for the Enterprise group out of the Washington Office. Since 2012, Kevin has served as an Incident Technology Support Specialist supporting the incident management teams in the Great Basin Geographic Area.

From 2015-2017 Kevin participated in two details with the USFS Fire and Aviation Information Technology (FAMIT) group as the e-ISuite application technical lead and project manager. In 2019, Kevin began working for FAMIT as an application developer supporting the fire websites and National Interagency Fire Center File Transfer Protocol (NIFC FTP). He is currently working for the Fire IT Branch of the USFS Chief Information Office (CIO) supporting fire applications and the National Enterprise Support System (NESS) infrastructure.

NPS ITRM branch chief, Erik Torres-Jacquez stated, “Kevin’s broad and extensive experience as an application developer and systems engineer will facilitate the division’s transition toward new cloud-based and innovative technologies. We are excited to welcome Kevin to the systems administrator position.”

Kevin has a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from Boise State University and Associate of Applied Science degree in Electronics from DeVry Institute of Technology. In his free time, Kevin and his partner Maria, enjoy hiking, biking, rafting, and playing tennis.
