Adventure awaits! Become a North Country National Scenic Trail Junior Ranger

Follow these steps:

1. Pick Up or Print Your Junior Ranger Adventure Guide

You may pick up a guide at partner locations or download a printable version (4.5 MB PDF). Paper copies cannot be mailed.

2. Enjoy the Junior Ranger Activities

Participate in fun, engaging activities as you get to know the North Country Trail.

3. Get Your Badge

After taking the pledge, you may print your Junior Ranger badge (250 KB PDF) or request one via email. To receive a wooden badge, email us with the following information:

  • Share something you learned while completing the book or tell us about a fun experience you had while visiting the trail.
  • Your name and address.
North Country Trail has a small team and it may take us up to eight weeks to mail you a badge.

Acknowledgements

In 2024, the National Park Service worked with a team of volunteers, the North Country Trail Association (NCTA), and the Government Publishing Office to develop the first-ever Junior Ranger Adventure Guide for the North Country National Scenic Trail.
