After a recent patrol of Sharkfin Tower SE Ridge we observed the following: The snow level is around 6,oooft. The glacier approach has very few open crevasses. In the approach gulley we observed a large moat forming and a mix of wet rock and a large bulge of snow in the beginning of the gulley. The snow just below the tower was steep and firm. The rock route is snow free and there were only two parties on the route that day. While descending the route in the early afternoon we observed a large natural rock fall that went straight down the approach gulley.
In addition, the bergschrund on the upper Taboo Glacier is about 4-8ft wide.
