Climber Report from Fisher Chimneys

June 14, 2016 Posted by: Climbing Rangers

A climber recently emailed us a report from their climb of the Fisher Chimneys route on Mt. Shuksan, here are the highlights:

June 6-8, 2016

Swift Creek crossing at ~2 miles from TH was open and difficult to cross. The Lake Ann Trail was approximately 50% snow covered, some route finding required to stay on the trail. There were moats forming around rocks and running water above Lake Ann and below the Fisher Chimneys proper. Last noted running water was in the Fisher Chimneys. Hells Highway was all snow, no ice showing. The gully on the summit pyramid were a mix of hard snow and dry rock.

Thanks to this party for the conditions update. Remember that it's still early season for much of the alpine areas in the park and composting toilets are likely still snow covered. Please bring and use blue bags! Please feel free to send us information from your climb at: noca_wilderness@nps.gov. Photos are great too!
