Sharkfin Tower 7.14.18

About This Blog

7/14/2018 After a recent patrol of Sharkfin Tower SE Ridge we observed the following: The snow level is around 6,oooft. The glacier approach has very few open crevasses. In the approach gully we observed a large moat forming and a mix of wet rock and a large bulge of snow in the beginning of the gully. The snow just below the tower was steep and firm. The rock route is snow free and there were only two parties on the route that day. While descending the route in the early afternoon we observed a large natural rock fall that went straight down the approach gully. In addition, the bergschrund on the upper Taboo Glacier is about 4-8ft wide. -Ranger Report
