Beginning Monday, April 4, the north side State Road 82/Fayette Station Road will be closed Monday through Fridays for repaving by the West Virginia Department of Highways. The closures will begin at 7 a.m. each Monday and last until 4 p.m. on Fridays. The closures will continue each week through the paving project, with the projected date of completion on or before Friday, June 10. During this time period, the south side of Fayette Station road, normally open to only one-way traffic for much of the route, will be converted to two-lane traffic, Monday through Fridays. The road is narrow with blind curves and, while caution is recommended for all drivers, is not advisable for those with large vehicles or trailers. Burma Road on the north side will remain open during the week allowing river access to Teays Landing, although delays should be expected during some periods of the closure. Normal traffic patterns will resume at 4 p.m. each Friday and last through the weekend until 7 a.m. Monday mornings, with the north side reopening for one-way traffic and the south side resuming normal one-way traffic patterns. |
