Position Description
Job Title: Special Events Assistant
Major Duties: Volunteer will serves as a member of the special events team providing help in coordinating and carrying out pre-, on-, and off-site activities related to the special event. This may include assistance with transportation and parking, publicity of event, logistics, program/group leadership, first aid, and other duties as needed to make the event a success. Volunteer will provide orientation, information, and interpretation to event participants that will facilitate safe and informed participation in the event.
Work Location: Park wide
Work Environment:
Work Schedule: 6 - 8 hours per day, Work times will vary with event, Sunday - Saturday, intermittent throughout the year
Clothing: VIP shirt, name badge, and hat supplied by park, to be worn with jeans, pants, or slacks (not faded and without holes), and tennis or dress shoes
Skill and qualifications needed: Required: Ability to communicate and work with the public, independently complete organizational assignments for specific event, and to learn the cultural and natural history of the park
Desired: Previous experience as coordinator or worked at special events, knowledge of park and area road and trail systems, and certification in basic first aid.
