About

Organized in 1830 with the mission of “moral and religious improvement of seamen,” the New Bedford Port Society operates two institutions within New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park: the Seamen’s Bethel and the Mariners’ Home. These buildings are next to each other on Johnny Cake Hill, across from the New Bedford Whaling Museum.
