The Central New Jersey Railroad and the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western railroad were only two of five railroads that served northeast Pennsylvania, as competition to transport valuable anthracite coal was fierce in the area. This image depicts the construction of the first pier of Bridge 60 at the Central New Jersey Railroad.
