Join Moores Creek National Battlefield from 12 pm until 4 pm on April 22, 2023 in the annual commemoration of Junior Ranger Day! (Please note the difference in times from previous events) Junior Ranger Day is a nationwide event that provides young (and young-at-heart) visitors an opportunity to participate in a variety of hands-on activities to learn more about their national parks! During Moores Creek's Junior Ranger Day event, junior rangers will have the opportunity to: -Make their own colonial candles -Make their own replica musket cartridges -View a musket and cannon demonstration -Visit with the park's colonial blacksmith -Learn more about colonial beverages and food -Listen to the park's colonial doctor -Complete the park's Junior Ranger booklet and earn your Junior Ranger badge and patch! This Junior Ranger Day will be extra special because it will coincide with a Naturalization Ceremony for 60 soon-to-be American citizens. The ceremony begins at 11:00 am at Patriots Hall. Make sure to bring your own mini American flag to welcome these new citizens! |
