Moores Creek Battleground Association

Founded March 7, 1899

The mission of Moores Creek Battleground Association is to commemorate and perpetuate the significance of the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge thruogh public awareness, educational programs and events, promotion of patriotism, and support and partnership with the National Park Service.

Moores Creek Battleground Association has the distinction of being the longest serving support organization for the National Park Service, having been chartered in 1899. Moores Creek Battleround Association has its roots in an earlier memorial association formed in 1857.

The Battleground Association is a member-based, non-profit organization that supports the Moores Creek National Battlefield's staff with volunteer and financial resources to carry out its mission of preservation, commemoration and education regarding the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge, fought February 27, 1776.

The Battleground Association is governed by a 15 member board of directors elected by the membership. Membership is open to anyone interested in helping the organization and National Park Service achieve their missions.
