Summer Solstice, Full Moon, and Flute Music at Montezuma Castle

CAMP VERDE, Ariz. – On Saturday evening, June 22, the National Park Service invites the public to Montezuma Castle National Monument for a Full Moon Flute Concert with Sedona musician Wolfs Robe.

The gates will open at 7:00 p.m., and the concert will last from 8:00 until 9:15 p.m. Enjoy the sunset as the music begins, then watch the Verde limestone cliffs and Montezuma Castle glow as they’re bathed in the light of the rising moon. Luminarias will cast a soft glow on the path from the visitor center to the concert location, as well as the Beaver Creek overlook and Castle A. Visitors and the local community are invited to stay as late as 10:00 p.m. to enjoy the scene.

There is no charge for admission or the concert. Red-filtered flashlights are encouraged. Montezuma Castle is located off Interstate 17, exit 289, 2800 N. Montezuma Castle Highway. The trail is a 1/3-mile, flat, paved loop that is accessible to wheelchairs, strollers, and walkers. For additional information, call Park Ranger Case Griffing at 928-567-3322, extension 230.
