Montezuma Well by Moonlight

Park rangers invite the public to get out and enjoy Montezuma Well after dark on the evening of Friday, April 6, 2012. Come enjoy the sunset, and watch the full moon rise over the Mogollon Rim. Guests will have the opportunity to see the Well in a special light and even see the moon at high magnification through a large, ten-inch telescope.

Gates will be open from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.  Rangers will be along the trails to answer questions, talk about the prehistoric cultures, and tell modern stories, all of which make the Well one of America's most unique and special places.

Participants should wear comfortable, sturdy shoes and bring a jacket, water, and insect repellant. Flashlights are allowed as long as the lens is covered with a red filter to avoid blinding other guests.  The Park Service will have red cellophane and a rubber band for those who do not have this.

The program is free, and no reservations are necessary. For more information, please call the Montezuma Well ranger station at (928) 567-4521.
