Montezuma Castle Proposes Safety Rail Project at Montezuma Well

Camp Verde, AZ –Montezuma Castle National Monument will hold a public meeting at the Montezuma-Rimrock Fire Department on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 6:00 PM.

This meeting is a forum to discuss a project proposal to install metal pipe rail fence along the existing Montezuma Well rim trail to improve visitor safety and provide additional protection for fragile natural and cultural resource areas. Montezuma Well is considered to be sacred for several Native American groups and is an important location for all Verde Valley residents. A short presentation outlining the project proposal will start at 6:00 PM with time for questions and discussion.

There will also be a short presentation by the Chief of Resource Management about the Montezuma Well ditch.
