This video series features historic places associated with the events of April 19, 1775 and combines their stories with museum objects from Concord Museum, Lexington Historical Society, Arlington Historical Society and Wright Tavern Legacy Trust.

  Our Tangible Past: A Nervous Night at Buckman Tavern

  In the early pre-dawn hours of April 19, 1775 members of the Lexington militia company waited nervously in the Buckman Tavern for the British column to arrive. In this video we will take you to Buckman Tavern and also to Concord Museum where you will see and hear a case clock that was at Buckman Tavern, ticking away the anxious hours that fateful night. FYI, the ticking clock at the end of the video is the ACTUAL Buckman clock that still works!

  Our Tangible Past: The Scars of Battle

This video features unique views of the battle damage at the Elisha Jones house in Concord, Buckman Tavern and Munroe Tavern in Lexington and the Jason Russell House in Arlington.

  Our Tangible Past: The Enemy at the Door

  While her husband, Colonel James Barrett, was organizing militiamen on the hill above Concord's North Bridge, Rebecca Barrett was left to face more than 100 British Regulars practically by herself as they came to the house to search for arms and supplies. Learn more about her story and see an amazing object at Concord Museum that witnessed it all! The house itself is now preserved as part of Minute Man National Historical Park.

  There are many objects associated with April 19, 1775 that have survived for a variety of reasons. Some were preserved in the ground as archaeological artifacts. Others were deliberately saved as a reminder of those history-making events.   Our Tangible Past: Hannah Adams' Ordeal

  "For God's sake don't kill me!" screamed the bedridden Hannah Adams as British soldiers burst into her chamber. Hannah's story of her encounter with British soldiers during their retreat to Boston on April 19, 1775 is one of the more poignant stories from that time - and it really happened!
