Concord, MA.This year marks the 101th anniversary of the National Park Service and Minute Man National Historical Park will join the other 400+ units of the National Park Service in celebration on August 25th.

Minute Man National Historical Park will offer free admission to The Wayside, Home of Authors, 455 Lexington Road, Concord, MA all day on Friday, August 25 in conjunction with National Park Service Founders’ Day. Visitors of all ages are welcome! Other programs include:
 
Revolutionary Dogs: "Paws for the Cause!" at Minute Man Visitor Center
Join Park Ranger Roger Fuller for a forty-five minute walk on the Battle Road to explore the lives of dogs in colonial America, and in the Revolution. The tour starts at Minute Man Visitor Center and goes to Paul Revere Capture Site, about half a mile, with four stops along the way. The walk is open to all. You are welcome to bring along your well-behaved, friendly dog, too.
Location: Route 2A, Lexington, MA.
Time: Friday, August 25th 2017 at 2:00 p.m. 45 minutes in length
Fee Information: FREE.
 
Authoring a Nation: A Hawthorne Neighborhood Walking Tour
Explore the neighborhood where Nathanial Hawthorne, Louisa May Alcott, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Henry David Thoreau lived and worked. Discover how their writings helped develop a unique American identity. The walk is almost one mile. Please wear comfortable shoes. 45-60 minutes.
Location: The Wayside, 455 Lexington Road, Concord, MA.
Time: Sunday, August 27th , 2017 at 1:30 p.m.
Fee Information: FREE.
