November Hours at Martin Van Buren National Historic Site
Martin Van Buren National Historic will offer reduced fall hours for the month of November.
The visitor center will be open Friday – Monday from 9 to 4:30. Restroom facilities, the museum shop, and a ten-minute introductory film are available throughout the day.
Guided tours of Lindenwald, Martin Van Buren’s home, will be offered Friday-Monday at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm. Tours last one hour and cover the interior of the home, the Van Buren family, and the labor history of the site. Please sign up for the tour in the visitor center beforehand. Additional programs may be offered as staffing permits.
Facilities are closed Tuesday-Thursday, but park grounds remain open daily from 7 am to sunset. Pick up a brochure in the parking lot and follow the three-quarter mile wayside loop to learn more about Martin Van Buren’s post-presidency home.
Beginning October 26, President Van Buren's home will be temporarily inaccessible to visitors with mobility impairments as the park replaces the exterior wheelchair lift. Please call 518-758-9689 ext. 2040 for more information. With advance notice, a ranger will be available in the visitor center to offer information on the home.
Facilities will be closed on Friday, November 30 in preparation for the winter open house on Saturday, December 1 and Sunday, December 2. Facilities will close for the season on Monday, December 3, following the event.
