National Park Service Presents:
An Activity Program for Preschoolers
KINDERHOOK, NEW YORK – Martin Van Buren National Historic Site is now offering a special educational activity for children ages 2-5. The ‘Littles Lindenwald Activity Round’ is an enjoyable self-paced program offered as an alternative to the hour-long house tour.
This multi-generational activity engages adults and children through interactive elements such as:
- reading a story on presidents
- constructing a wood toy
- making a sheep with’ google eyes’
- observing nature
- indulging their child’s imagination through an archaeology exercise
- and more!
The activity program corresponds with the carriage- path wayside signs offering accompanying adults an opportunity to learn about Martin Van Buren and life at the President’s beloved home and farm called Lindenwald.
All needed items and directions for the ‘Littles Lindenwald Activity Round’ are in a pre-made supply kit that families may pick up at the Visitor Center.
For more information, call Martin Van Buren National Historic Site at 518-758-9689.
