Manzanar National Historic Site will present a free seminar on navigating the federal hiring process. The seminar will be held at the Manzanar Visitor Center on two different days: Friday, May 13 and Sunday, May 15. Each 60 minute session will begin at 2:00 pm and cover the same material, including the USAJobs website and the application process, followed by Q&A.
USAJobs is the Federal Government's official employment site where local job vacancies for the National Park Service (NPS), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), and U.S. Forest Service (USFS) can be found. The website streamlines hiring for all federal agencies across the nation but can appear complex to a first-time applicant. This free seminar will help potential applicants learn eligibility criteria and important steps to take in the application process. There is no requirement to attend either session; all are welcome. While this seminar is not specific to the NPS or Manzanar, the site has a current job posting for a GS-11 Facility Manager.
Manzanar National Historic Site is located at 5001 Hwy 395, Independence, CA, 93526. The visitor center is open from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm Thursday through Monday (currently closed Tuesday and Wednesday). For more information, visit www.nps.gov/manz, call 760-878-2194 x3310, or email e-mail us.
