10:00 AM Matthews Hill Battle Walk

45 Minutes
Follow in real time the opening engagement of the 1^st Battle of Manassas on the morning of July 21^st, 1861.
Tour will meet at Tour Stop #4, Matthews Hill

11:00 AM Fighting at the Robinson Farm

90 Minutes
Explore the intense combat that swirled around the farmstead of Free Black Farmer and Businessman James Robinson.
Tour will meet outside the Henry Hill Visitor Center.

2:00 PM Your Affectionate Brother: The Henry Family at Spring Hill Farm

45 Minutes
Many people know the story of how Mrs. Judith Carter Henry became the only civilian killed as a result of the First Battle of Manassas. However, not as well-known is the story of Mrs. Henry and her family. Join a park ranger to hear more about the years that they occupied Spring Hill Farm, their family farmstead.
Tour will meet outside the Henry Hill Visitor Center.

3:00 PM The Marines of 61’

60 Minutes
Follow in the footsteps of the United States Marine Corps Battalion that fought First Manassas.
Tour will meet at the Henry House on Henry Hill

4:00 PM Henry Hill Walking Tour

45 Minutes
Join a member of the park staff for an overview of the 1^st Battle of Manassas.
Tour will meet behind the Henry Hill Visitor Center.

6:00PM Fife and Drum Corps Demonstration

Experience a demonstration from the Fort McHenry Fife and Drum Corps portraying a United States Army Fife and Drum Corps from the Civil War.
Learn about the role of field music for the army, what tunes they played, and the instruments they used.
Program takes place on Henry Hill

7:00PM History at Sunset: The Aftermath of Battle

60 Minutes
Join a Park Ranger and learn about the aftermath of the battle and the effect it had on the civilians, soldiers, and the land itself. Tour will explore the environs of Henry Hill and end with the lowering and folding of the U.S. Flag outside the visitor center.
Program begins behind the Henry Hill Visitor Center.

 

Living History

Uniforms of 1st Manassas

10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Location: Oak Grove, Henry Hill
Join living historians from the National Park Service and the Liberty Rifles and discover some of the many different uniforms used by both sides during the Battle of 1^st Manassas. Learn about what they wore, why they looked the way they did, and what things these different soldiers carried into battle.
 

Surgeons of 61’

10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Location: Along the Confederate Line on Henry Hill
Join living historians portraying an early war Confederate medical departmentt.
Learn about the medical practices of the day and how the surgeons learned at the begging of the war how to treat combat wounds.
