ATLANTA- The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park will host a special African American History Program that will take place at the Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in the Heritage Sanctuary, located at 407 Auburn Avenue, NE Atlanta, Georgia, on February 23, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM in the Heritage Sanctuary. In partnership with the American King Foundation and the Alveda King Ministries, the program will feature a Youth panel discussion on “Why we must know our history and be prepared to Bridge the Gap between our past and our future”. The program will also feature a performance from songstress Kristen Glover from Madison, Alabama, who recently performed at the King Center’s 36th annual Salute to Greatness Awards Gala. Mrs. Glover has traveled throughout the United States and Internationally, leading gospel music workshops and singing as a lead vocalist or soloist.
“ The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park is committed to providing youth with an opportunity to learn about the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.”, stated Superintendent Judy Forte, “and through partnerships such as the the King Foundation and Alveda King Ministries, the park has provided training and career experiences to hundreds of young people in becoming responsible stewards of the nations’s natural and cultural resources”.
This event is free and is a part of an ongoing series of public program offered by the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park.
