Roots of Change – Free Virtual Seminar, April 29 – May 1
The Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park is hosting a FREE three-day online event titled "Roots for Change" from April 29th to May 1st. This virtual seminar will engage students from diverse communities in discussions about the Civil Rights movement's legacy and civic participation. Each day of the webinar will take on a different theme and explore the stories and perspectives surrounding that topic. April 29th will focus on Grassroots Movements, April 30th Voting Rights, and May 1st will explore Comparisons of Modern and Historical Times.
• College/University students and upper-level high school students who are interested in joining us to give a 15-minute presentation during the webinar scheduled from April 29 to May 1.
• Faculty and community members who are interested in giving 45-minute presentations.
• All individuals are invited to attend for free! The virtual seminar will host speakers from Civil Rights National Park Service sites across the country, sharing stories from the Civil Rights Movement. See below for registration information.
