West Virginia is one of seven jurisdictions which fall within the Chesapeake Bay watershed with about 14% of the state draining into the Bay. In fact, two of three main tributaries of the Bay begin in West Virginia: the Potomac and James Rivers.Though only 11 counties comprise West Virginia’s portion of the Bay, there are still plenty of activities for recreation and exploration in the Mountain State.
