Active and Aspiring Chesapeake Gateways Places

The lists below, broken out by state, represent active or aspiring Chesapeake Gateways Places. Units of the national park system, including national heritage areas, within the watershed are automatically included in Chesapeake Gateways. Local places listed below with an asterisk have signed their general agreement and are active members of the network. All other local places listed have submitted self-nominations and are accepted pending a signed agreeement. The state parks within the Chesapeake Bay watershed are included in Chesapeake Gateways based on Chesapeake Bay Iniative Act of 1998. NPS Chespaeake Gateways is actively working to establish state-wide agreements to include state public lands in the partnership network's maps, publications, website and mobile application.
