Become a B.A.R.K. Ranger

The Omaha visitor center would love to meet you and your pooch! When visiting, send a human companion inside to talk to one of our rangers or volunteers at the front desk about our B.A.R.K. Ranger program. After learning about our original B.A.R.K. Ranger: Seaman, completing a few activities, and understanding the B.A.R.K. Ranger code, we'll help you take the B.A.R.K. Ranger pledge and sign your official certificate! Except for service animals, pets are not allowed inside our building. However, we'd be happy to help you complete the program outside!

Bag your pet's waste

Trash cans are located outdoors around the visitor center, along trails, and on the Iowa side of the Bob Kerrey bridge.

Always wear a leash

We are located in a busy urban area where many dogs, pedestrians, bicyclists, and local wildlife roam. Pets must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet long.

Respect wildlife

For the safety of your pet and our local animals, please leave a respectful distance between you and wildlife.

Know where you can go

While pets are welcome to walk along the trails outside, including the Bob Kerrey pedestrian bridge, only service animals are allowed inside the Omaha visitor center.
