We also got to meet Nate Hess, a park guide at the Lewis and Clark NHT Headquarters! He works one-on-one with the public, running the visitor center as well as interpreting the story of Lewis and Clark. He started with the National Park Service as in intern in 2011 at Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania. A historian at heart, he loves teaching the public about the Lewis and Clark expedition. His favorite aspect of the expedition are the people, both those who stayed permanently with the Corps of Discovery and those who the corps encountered, such as American Indians and travellers.
Nate was super helpful in showing us the map of the trail that we will soon be travelling!
