Last week, I left my siblings behind and visited the Missouri National Recreation River with Outdoor Recreation Planner Kristine Struck. We met with the MNRR Water Trail group. They have a lot of really neat plans for this summer, including kayaking clinics for beginners and overnight kayak trips for more experienced paddlers. The Water Trail includes some of the last remaining natural stretches of the river my ancestor traveled and is a beautiful place to visit!
Kristine started working for the Trail nearly 2 years ago after spending most of her career with the Bureau of Land Management and U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. She’s very focused right now on the geotourism program, which promotes sustainable tourism along the trail. This online resource is a great way to plan your trip at any point along the Lewis and Clark NHT trail. Check it out here!
