Meet Ashley Danielson

April 19, 2018 Posted by: Audrey Sisel
This afternoon we got to meet the woman behind this entire project, Ashley Danielson! Ashley is the Volunteer and Partner Specialist, which means she helps partner sites recruit, train and promote volunteers. She also helps to implement the Strategic Communication Plan, which promotes the use of social media to bring the sites on the trail together.

This is where we come in! Ashley got the idea when Rob Hazen, a classmate of Ashley's at the NPS Fundamentals Training Program, suggested that the group send a stuffed condor around to the various sites represented in their course. She then brought the idea to the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the National Trails System. This project has taken on a life of its own, with us traveling to around 150 partner sites over 3,700 miles! The aim is to raise awareness of the wonderful resources on the trail.

One of Ashley’s other projects is the selfie spots that you’ll be seeing over the summer! These selfie spots were sent to the partner sites to help their visitors interact with the Lewis and Clark NHT via social media in order to create awareness of all the wonderful sites, history and attractions that this wonderful trail has to offer!
