YOUTH CONSERVATION CORPS

Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area is now accepting applications for the 2007 summer Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) program.  Ten YCC enrollees and leader positions will be recruited.  These positions will be located at Spring Canyon, Keller Ferry, Fort Spokane, Gifford, Evans and Kettle Falls.  Separate applications must be completed for each area you are applying for.  Positions are open to young men and women who have attained the age of 15, but must not have reached the age of 19 during the term of employment.  This will be a non-residential camp, and all enrollees must have a social security number prior to entrance into the program.  The estimated period of employment is June 11, 2005 through August 3, 2007.  Enrollees will be paid a minimum wage for a 40-hour work week.  YCC enrollees who have participated for more than 3 weeks in the past will not be considered for the enrollee program, but will be considered for the leader position.

To apply, contact the National Park Service or a local high school for a YCC application form.  The application period will be from March 1, 2007 through April 1, 2007.  For further information, contact Alan Riemer, 509-738-6266, extension 102 at Kettle Falls, Sue Halverson, 509-725-2715, extension 20 at Fort Spokane, or Pat Michael 509-633-9441, extension 141 at Coulee Dam.
