The National Park Service at Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area will be closing Kamloops Island Campground from July 25 to August 15, 2007.  This closure is to facilitate replacement of the Hedlund Bridge at the intersection of SR 395 and Northport Flatcreek Road.  Although construction of the new bridge will continue until summer of 2008, once reopened visitors will be able to access the campground via the detour from Napoleon Bridge.

This construction activity is also preventing access by water to the Kettle River from the main channel of Lake Roosevelt.  Launch facilities at Napoleon Bridge on the Kettle River will remain open allowing access to the river above Kamloops Island.

Please call the Kettle Falls District office at 509-738-6266, extension 109 for further information.
