The National Park Service collects Recreation Fees under the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act (FLREA), which provides a vital source of revenue for maintaining and improving facilities and services for park visitors. Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area does not collect an entrance fee. Instead, park projects are funded by campground and boat launch fees. Eighty cents of every dollar collected stays at Lake Roosevelt, and the remainder is shared among parks that cannot collect fees because their founding legislation prohibits it. Current ProjectsFee money is used for a variety of projects that improve the natural and cultural resources and make Lake Roosevelt a safer place to visit. Boat launch repairs, campground maintenance, vault toilet upkeep, building restoration, and much more are made possible by your contributions. As you explore the park, look for the UserFee logo marking other projects supported by fees. Dock Upgrades - Completed in July 2024This 2024 project consists of repairing and replacing broken components of the courtesy and skid docks at Fort Spokane, Hunters, and Gifford. Boat launch skid and courtesy docks are frequently moving up and down as lake level fluctuates, which causes strain on the frame structures. The structures, hinges, and chains will all be inspected, welded and reinforced as needed. Flotation pontoons on the floating end of the docks are getting an upgrade, as the older rust-damaged metal pontoons are replaced with poly foam-filled pontoons. These repairs are important to maintaining visitor safety and resource protection.Seven Bays Marinahttps://parkplanning.nps.gov/sevenbaysmarinaThe National Park Service is in the planning stations to rehabilitate site amenities by replacing the existing dock system, improving traffic flow (pedestrian and vehicles) and parking, improving the boat fueling systems at the marina, and creating safer and more accessible lake access. The proposed action has been developed to improve accessibility of amenities throughout the site, to enhance visitor safety, and to improve the overall efficiency of park operations. |
