BOULDER CITY, Nevada - America’s national parks will be premier viewing sites for a rare solar eclipse that will be crossing the United States Aug. 21. Lake Mead National Recreation Area is holding a free viewing party at the visitor center from 9 a.m. to noon.

Lake Mead National Recreation Area swore in 270 junior rangers during National Junior Ranger Day April 15. Around 500 people attended the annual National Park Week event.

TOURISM TO LAKE MEAD NATIONAL RECREATION AREA CREATES $312.6 MILLION IN ECONOMIC BENEFITS
BOULDER CITY, Nevada – A new National Park Service report shows that 7.2 million visitors to Lake Mead National Recreation Area in 2016 spent $312.6 million in communities near the park. That spending supported 4,172 jobs in the local area and had a cumulative benefit to the local economy of $369 million.
