Contained within this wilderness unit are the striking Eldorado Mountains. They are an intricate web of peaks and side canyons with craggy cliffs extending to the waters of the Colorado River. The area is unmatched in its stark beauty. Jointly managed with the Bureau of Land Management, this prime bighorn sheep habitat of steep mountains contrasts sharply with the shoreline activities of migrating birds along the rivers edge.
