Lava Beds National MonumentDon't forget to start your visit at the Visitor Center to be screened for White-Nose Syndrome. 
It is the only cave in the park to have lights and interpretive signs explaining the cave formations, ecology and cave climate.
Named for the day it was discovered in 1933, it has large main passages with smooth floors and walls.

This location is on the northern flank of the massive Medicine Lake Shield Volcano, named for the broad, gently-sloping profile.
