Help us celebrate Lava Beds National Monument turning
100 years old!!

At 11:00 am join us at the visitor center porch for words from our Superintendent reflecting on the park's past and the next 100 years.
From 10am - 1pm we will have kid activities showing how rangers work to protect and preserve the park happening around the visitor center.
Activities Include:
- Identifying pelts, skulls, scat and animal tracks
- Tule Weaving
- Watercolor Painting
- Cave Conservation Station
- Learning how you can Leave no Trace
- How we all Protect Artifacts at Lava Beds
- Safely view the sun and learn about what you'll see when the sun goes down.
- Check out the park's Search and Rescue (SAR) trailer.
- It's Tool Time, with a Maintenance Ranger.
Ranger Programs:
- 9:30, 11:30 & 12:30 - Map Valentine Cave with Ranger Dominic. Pick up your free ticket at the Visitor Center.
- 12:00pm @ Mushpot Cave picnic area - Meet J.D. Howard and Polly Merrill and learn about the parts they played in the establishment of Lava Beds National Monument.
- 1:00pm @ B-loop of the Campground - Help GBI Botanist, Jonathan, plant sagebrush seedlings as part of our post Caldwell fire restoration.
- 7:00pm @ Campground Amphitheater - Join Biologist Emma for her Bat Chat and learn how we identify and protect the 16 species of bats at Lava Beds.
-7:30 @ Campground Amphitheater - Join Volunteer Steve and CL Steward Dayna to learn about our amazing Night Sky and see some celestial wonders.
