NPS Volunteer Logo Become a Kings Mountain National Military Park Volunteer!Kings Mountain National Military Park is a hidden jewel within the National Park System. The compelling history preserved here gives us a window into the struggle for liberty and independence in the Carolina backcountry during one of the darkest periods of the Revolutionary War. Interpreting and protecting this important part of our history would be impossible without the dedicated team of volunteers who contribute countless hours of their time to promote and support “America’s Best Idea.” Kings Mountain National Military Park needs dedicated volunteers to help accomplish our mission. The duty of the National Park Service is to preserve the site for future generations and provide opportunities for visitors to understand this substantial history.

However, for non-local volunteers the park does have a trailer pad with full hookups for RVs or personal travel homes. Park housing is very limited and dependent on the season.
