News Release Date: January 25, 2017 During the winter, the Calumet Visitor Center is open on Friday and Saturdays from 10:00am to 3:00pm. It provides orientation to the park and its partner Keweenaw Heritage Sites as well as a sales area operated by the Isle Royale & Keweenaw Parks Association. The primary focus of the facility is the exhibit Risk and Resilience: Life In a Copper Mining Community. Everyone is encouraged to visit the free facility and enjoy the artifact-rich exhibits, self-guided building tours, and rotating temporary exhibits.
