(Calumet, MI) Are you looking for something to do on Saturday? Come to the Calumet Visitor Center for the newly launched youth Story Hour. Join park rangers, volunteers, and community members as they read aloud children’s stories from 1:00-2:00pm. Adults can explore the exhibits throughout the building or enjoy hot tea or coffee on the third floor while the children are at Story Hour. Some Saturdays will also include a follow-up activity that relates to the book being read. Story Hour is free and open to everyone.  
 
During the winter, the Calumet Visitor Center is open on Friday and Saturdays from 10:00am to 3:00pm. It provides orientation to the park and its partner Keweenaw Heritage Sites as well as a sales area operated by the Isle Royale & Keweenaw Parks Association. The primary focus of the facility is the exhibit Risk and Resilience: Life In a Copper Mining Community. Everyone is encouraged to visit the free facility and enjoy the artifact-rich exhibits, self-guided building tours, and rotating temporary exhibits.
